TEACHER: I understand the importance of the educational experience for every child and my role as teacher and model. I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability.

I will:

1. provide a safe and positive learning environment where each child’s self esteem and uniqueness is supported.
2. provide access to books and encourage reading at school and at home.
3. provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum to foster kindergarten readiness in each child.
4. communicate with parents on an on-going basis.
5. welcome and encourage parent and community involvement in the school.

PARENT: I understand that my involvement in my child’s education will help his/her achievement, attitude, and behavior. I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability.

I will:

1. read to/with my child daily.
2. get my child to school each day on time.
3. try to volunteer one hour each month in the preschool.
4. talk with and listen to my child.
5. play with and enjoy my child.
